Queen Elizabeth's Foundation Development Centre works with severely disabled young people to give them the skills they require to enable them to move on to a lifestyle and location of their choice. The centre offers a wide range of services, information and activities for disabled people in the Dartford and surrounding areas.

Reception at Resource Centre Many disabled people want to learn new skills and develop a life within the community. Queen Elizabeth's Foundation Resource Centre is a focal point for those living in the Dartford area, and offers a wide range of services, information and activities.

 

The Centre provides classes in computer training, arts and crafts, woodwork
as well as indoor and outdoor sports, (all classes are tailored to suit
individual needs). We also have a wheelchair repair service, a complementary
theraphy clinic and can offer counselling services.

Learning new computer skills

The Computer Department is constantly being updated to offer a wide range of services, voice recognition software, special keyboards. Here you can learn computer skills whether you are a complete beginner or have some knowledge. Tuition is given in Word-processing, Spreadsheet, Database, Desktop Publishing and use of the Internet. All tuition is tailored to suit the individuals need and capabilities. Certified courses are available in CLAIT.

Specially equipped gym

The Centre boasts a fully equipped gym specially designed for use with the disabled. The gym is managed by fully qualified staff with the help of trained volunteers. A full assessment and induction training takes place on your first visit with free advice and encouragement available, but we draw the line at doing the work for you!
